The Fleet Maintenance Division of the Public Works Department, is responsible for repair, maintenance and parts procurement for all City vehicles and equipment. Palm Truck Center is a Full Service and Parts Supplier for much of the City of Fort Myers Heavy Truck Fleet. They offer repair on Cummins, Caterpillar, Packer engines which include warranty services. Many of the City’s heavy truck fleet are manufactured by Peterbilt, with the vast majority Cummins-powered, requiring the need of Palm Truck Center’s ability to supply the parts and service needed to keep this heavy truck fleet up and running. The Fleet division has experienced some unforeseen Engine, Emissions and Driveline failures this fiscal year, which is now requiring the need to increase the amount initially established in the purchase order with Palm Truck Center.
