MOTION: Approve the Law Enforcement Location Agreement and Law Enforcement License Agreement between D and J Productions (“Cold Justice”) and the City of Fort Myers on behalf of the Fort Myers Police Department for the purpose of teaming up in a cold case homicide investigation with production date of May 31 - June 7, 2019. MANAGEMENT RECOMMENDATION: Approve

WHAT ACTION ACCOMPLISHES:  The intent of the partnership is to have a coordinated and focused approach on a specific cold case homicide to uncover enough evidence to bring the case before the State Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

“Cold Justice” is a television show produced by D and J Productions on the Oxygen Channel wherein a prosecutor and retired cold case homicide detectives work in conjunction with local law enforcement to work on a specific homicide case.  “Cold Justice” has previously assisted the Fort Myers Police Department twice and both times the cases worked resulted in arrests and convictions for murder.  Production dates from May 31 - June 7, 2019.
